  1. My partner and myself visited the Harvesters on the Cardigan Fields leisure complex in Leeds today and were both rather disgusted with the so called standard of food we had. We both had different types of fish and chips but both meals were just awful, oil soaked batter tasteless fish and half cooked hard chips with a portion of mushy peas that would not have filled a desert spoon. the only good thing about this experience was the girl who served us was really nice.

  2. My friend and I visited the Forest Harvester at Bromsgrove last Saturday evening. We arrived early but were greeted very warmly and although we were happy to wait at the bar a table was found for us almost immediately. The service was excellent and cheerful, the food arrived quickly and was well prepared and tasted very good indeed. It was excellent value for money. I would have no hesitation in re-visiting The Forest whenever it takes my fancy. Having just read through what I have written, it looks like something the staff would have written, but I assure you I am a genuine customer, and a very satisfied one to boot!

  3. Visited Harvester Sovereign Harbour Eastbourne 24th July. Others we have visited have been good. This one the food not bad, service good but the plate the food arrived on was disgusting it felt sticky as if it hadn’t been washed or washed in dirty water, I sent the meal back to get a clean plate. The salad bowls were the similar, I had to check a few before I found one reasonably clean. Heaven knows what bugs lurked !! Its supposed to be the busiest in the country, can’t see how, I certainly won’t be going back

  4. well it has been a few years since i have bee to the bassets pole. we had a table for two that wobbled, i said can you fix the floor or table. they stuck beer mats under the table leg. we had the chicken, it was pink in the middle, not to my taste. then upon leaving, they gave me the wrong bill, for over £20.00 when my bill was £12.72. i think you need a carpenter and a lesson in table locations.

  5. Some months ago I and a friend visited “The Southbury” in Enfield. On that occasion the experience was good and when going out with 3 other friends on Tues 14th Aug I had no hesitation in suggesting The Southbury based on my previous experience.
To say that I was shocked would be an understatement; It took in excess of one hour from order to food on the table; The food was cold; the steaks were over cooked; Some dishes were not as ordered; and one member of our group ordered the “Boneless Ribs”, what was served could not be classed as dog food. When we asked to speak with the manager he did not respond until asked for a number of times. The excuse then was that the restaurant had suddenly got busy. Based on our experience on 14th this ‘busy’ spell will be short lived as we will certainly not be patronizing this establishment again.

  6. sunday 16/09/2012.me&my husband went to the new harvester that has opened up in york,we are first time harvesters, and i must say it was a very pleasant experience, soon as we walked in we was shown to a table and within minutes a cheery waitress came and asked if we wanted any drinks (i’ve forgotten her name but she was great ).the salad bar had a lovely choice of different things, our meal didn’t take long to arrive and the plate wasn’t over crammed there was just enough,so you had plenty of room for a sweet,we had the harvesters sundae best, and when it came it was absolutely georgeous,i will be telling all my friends and family about our visit and tell them to try it for themselves,me and my hubby will definately be coming back.thank you for a lovely dinner.

  7. Hi my daughter and i had lunch at the cwmbran harvester today 13/10/2012 it was extremely busy when we arrived but we were seated within 5mins and our order was taken within 10mins we had a lovely meal and the staff were very efficient we have eaten at the cwmbran harvester many times and have never had any complaints so thank you very much to all staff we will no doubt be returning soon

  8. I took my wife to the Windhover Harvester in Southampton for Brunch, waited 40 minutes for the food and the meal was not what we ordered, food was luke warm, I got tea instead of coffee, the toast was rock hard and the butter melted in the packet. I did not tip!

  9. 10th November My friend and I ate at the Plough in Sutton, Although I was a bit late the waitress asked the chef if I could still have the breakfast, no problem. The staff here are very friendly and helpful and our meal was delicious. It has a relaxed atmosphere even when they are very busy.

  10. On 17th Nov I took my daughter, her partner, grandson and great grand-daughter to The Plough in Sutton. As it was her birthday we chose the Harvester in Sutton as it is so friendly and the food is very good. Immediately a high-chair was got for the little one together with colouring pencils and pictures to keep the children amused whilst waiting for their dinner. Dinner was served quickly even though it was a Saturday lunch-time and busy, salad bar was fresh and clean, looking inviting. Dinner was excellent which we followed up with a free icecream sundae, DELICIOUS!!!!!!

  11. Today a group of seven and myself attended the Harvester in Bedford, where despite our large group we were seated immediately by friendly staff. Our server was beyond efficient and we were very pleased with the service. The food was fantastic as always. I would definitely recommend harvester Bedford!

  12. On Sunday 09 December 2012, fifteen of us visited the Harvester at Morden,Surrey also known as The George Inn.
After a short while of waiting, we received outstanding service, care and despite the large group we were served quickly and efficiently. A superb afternoon and thoroughly enjoyable occasion.
Well done to the Manager and the waitress (Natasha)! Brilliant. Keep it up guys!

  13. This was the second time I visited The Harvester with my family and a friend. We had ordered vegetarian meal. We had a sumptuous meal after we finished the salads and the starters. IT was also the second time I could not finish the lot I had ordered because of the quantity served and the others had the same problem. The food was very delicious and reasonably priced. I felt and so did the others that we got value of our money.

  14. my Sister and l visited your five bells in Basildon last night. As we have been there loads of times before so we were not surprised at the high standard of the food or tthe great servce we recieved. This time we were served by Lauren she was excellent! Attentive without being overbearing and friendly without being over the top. She along with the rest of the staff were as always a credit to your busness.

  15. Gary Neill
We visited the one in Gowerton, couldnt fault the staff,
The last few visits they always seem to run out of something
spit chicken/bananaoffe desert/ chips? that was true over the last four visits.
Last night I ordered the gourmet sausage and mash garlic/chilli

There must of been two ounces of mash and a thimble of gravy
Although the waitress did offer another thimble when she noticed how dry it was, that meal is nearly 7 pound,

Staff are lovely, portion size to be looked at and stock availability..

  16. Although our normal Harvester is Runnymede, we decided to try the Maidenhead branch today for lunch for 2 burgers & 2 fish & chips. Burgers were rock solid, cooked to death patties, chips straight from a frozen Makro pack. Fish portions were OK, served with chips from the same Makro frozen pack. When my wife complained to the manager about the burgers, she was told by the cocky manager that there’s nothing wrong with the Burger and if she wanted a replacement, we’d be charged for both the burger and replacement. Despite protests the manager would not alter the situation. Needless to say Maidenhead has lost our custom and it’s back to Runnymede.

  17. My Wife and I have dined in the Harvester in St Annes on several occasions, sometime by ourselves and sometimes in a larger party, on every occasion the service is excellent, the food is just fantastic value for money, tasty and well cooked. The atmosphere is so friendly and the ‘other things’, car park, convenience, speed of service, etc is wonderful. The staff should be proud of their product.

  18. My partner and I went to the Aintree Park Harvester today,we have been a few times and have never been disappointed! Great service by very friendly staff, we’ve never waited more than ten minutes to be seated and our order taken. I don’t know how they do it, even when they are so busy, the food is always well cooked and fresh. There was only one thing we didn’t like and that was we couldn’t take our fourteen year old grandson with us today, but we will make it up to him next week ! thank you

  19. My friends and I had lunch at the Harvester earlier this month. We received a friendly welcome and were seated at a table at the window as we requested. Our waitress Kathryn was attentive without being overbearing and our food arrived promptly. It was delicious and the portion sizes were generous. It all sounds too good to be true but the staff were great, the food was good value for money and the venue was lovely. It all came together to make for a delightful lunch – thank you to the Mansion House team. We will be back.

  20. We just had a meal at the harvester nene valley. Food was lovely as always. For us the reason why we go there so much is the customer service is so high. The lovely jo served us today and as always was great. So a big Thankyou to all the staff at riverside for such great service all the time. Well done.

  21. Fred 24 August 2013
My wife and i have just enjoyed lunch at the harvester taunton and had been served by the delightful Vicky, she always has a welcoming smile and is cheerful and delightful all through are visit this is why we always ask for when we visit, she is a ray of sunshine and brightens up the visit.she always provides top quality service and makes us want to come back again.WELL DONE VICKY YOUR A STAR.

  22. We dined at the Harvester at Colton in Leeds on 2nd November 2013. We have been going to Harvester Restaurants since 1980′s, I have to let you know yesterday was a let down. The standards have been going down over the years we both started with the prawn cocktail, it was only watery lettuce and a few prawns, I had a mixed grill with each piece of meat cooked to a different level. My husband had the gammon which did not look like a piece of gammon. We were offered no sauces, the food was nearly cold. We will think twice before going again.

  23. My family and I went to the Sutton Harvester in Sutton Common Road, to celebrate our sons 8th birthday, we were served by Maureen who was fantastic with us all the way, even our son who has a disability made a bit of a mess she was more than understanding. This was our third visit the meal was cooked perfect and every time we go all the staff are marvelous and the atmosphere makes you want to come back which we will be doing soon, I salute you all thank you.

  24. 6 of us visited the Poachers Cottage Harvester Trentham on Sunday 3rd November 2013. The restaurant was Extremely busy and we had to wait a little while for a table but we did not mind as we sat and had a drink in comfy chairs. The food arrived promptly and was cooked and presented beautifully. The staff were very efficient and pleasant. We all enjoyed our meals very much and all plates were emptied. The staff were happy to supply extra spoons so we could share 3 desserts between us. The atmosphere was very pleasant and there was no loud music (which we find irritating as we like to natter and catch up on family news when we go out in a group for a meal and having to bellow over loud music is not something we enjoy doing) and it was lovely to hear other people actually conversing rather than shouting over the music. We have eaten here many times and shall continue to do so

  25. Visited the Harvester Bassetts Pole Sutton Coldfield on 29th November. Very disappointing. Salad Bar dishes were dirty. When ordering our choice of meals. Had no beef ordered off Christmas menu. Friend ordered salmon with Ginger +sauce. Had no ginger+ sauce. When my meal came I noticed I had no buttered carrots, on asking for these were told they had run out of carrots but I could fetch some grated carrot of salad bar. Who would want raw carrot with a hot dinner. When I asked the manager for a head office phone number I was told any communication had to be done through him. If harvesters are franchised is there nobody checking standards.
